winter gone

Spring has long been here, summer is truely knocking at our door. So we are busy with the garden, baby animals and moving animals to fresh green pastures . We have had a fabulous crop of babies, added to our mixture of livestock this spring. With everyone came more work but an abundance of fun and joy. The kids are well prepared to help and each year they are challenged to climb the ladder of trust with a new machine or skill to help with the work load. So enjoy the parade of pictures.

My beautiful barn

This is my first barn. I was born in the city of Victoria , on two acres ,but we have settled in Northern BC now, for 14 years, with our family on 160 acres. Three of our children have grown and gone to start their own lives and we have 5 still at home here on the farm. Last year we built a barn and I got my first dairy cow. She is a gem. Hand raised and the best thing that has happened to us. After her first calf , Liberty, we adventured out to become a milking family. I am mainly the milk maid but hope to train a few boys to help soon.
